I Teams

 

   Teams consist of 17 players on your active roster 6 players on your bench that can move in and out of your lineup and cover injuries. New divisions are drawn every 2 years. Divisions are made up of six teams and reservations made at the picnic will tell how many divisions will participate.

 

II       Lineup

 

   A lineup consists of 2 of each a left wing, center, and right wing 6 defensemen 2 goalies and your Checking Line.

 

III     Checking Line

 

   A.] Checking line players must have finished 5th or worse in scoring on their team of the previous year

         a.)  Super star players may be moved up due to injury.

1.) The fourth highest scorer then becomes checking eligible.

         b.) Ties on scoring go to the player with the least amount of games.

            1.) If there is still a tie then neither player is eligible

   B.] Checking line players get points for both their points and their plus/minus when on their line.

   C.] These players can be used in normal spots for offensive players.

 

IV     Draft

 

   A.] Returning Owners can keep up to 3 players or as few as they want to keep, in the 2nd year of a division.

   B.] Dice rolls determine the draft orders each round until the tenth then you use a rollover till the end.

   C.] New teams draft first adding players needed to fill their roster by the 4th  round all teams will be drafting

          a.)  No rookies may be drafted in the first three rounds.

   D.] We will use the Hockey News Yearbook for player position and standings.

   E.] When your draft turn comes you have 2 minutes to draft a player or you will draft last that round.

   F.] You get three timeouts during the draft and a table time out five for the person fifteen for the table.

   G.] In the 11th round you start the rollover using the tenth round order.

   H.] After the draft you need to turn in your starting lineup and bench with player, position, and team!!

 

V       Secondary Draft

 

   A.] The secondary draft is held three weeks after the season starts no changes in lineups are allowed until after that.

   B.] That means no lineup changes and no trades of odd numbers. (I.e. no 2 for 1s)

   C.] Players traded in the NHL during this time may be replaced but rookies sent down don’t count.

   D.] Injured players will be replaced in your lineup.

   E.] A max of 7 players can be dropped / picked up at this draft.

   F.] Dice rolls determine the draft order here too.

   G.] You get 3 passes in this draft after you use them you are done.

   H.] A team not paid for by this time will be put up for sale.

 

VI     Moves

 

   A.] Each team has3 moves for the whole season.

   B.] When you use your move tells how many players you can pick up.

      3 until Jan.1   2 from Jan. 2 till March 1     1 until the end of the year

   C.] Moves can be saved for the playoffs.

 

VI b  Injury Moves

 

A.] Each team has3 injury moves per season

   B.] They can be used to manipulate injured player.

         a.) Drop an injured player.

         b.) Drop an injury pick up and pick up a new player.

         c.) Activate an injured player.

         d.) Deactivate a known injured player.

  

VII    Trades

 

   A.] Each team is allowed 3 free trades after that each will cost $1.

   B.] Both teams involved in a trade must contact their captain and the commish.

   C.] The trading deadline is a week after the NHL’s

   D.] You are not allowed to make 3 trades in a row with the same team.

   E.] During the first year of new divisions you may trade draft choices.

   F.] The league captains have veto power over lopsided trades.

   G.] Uneven trades may not exceed the number of players for a move at the time of the trade.

 

VIII   Scoring

 

   A.] Goals and assists are worth 1 point apiece for all active players.

   B.] Goalies also get 2 points for wins, a point for a tie or assist, and 5 points for a goal.

   C.] All defensemen and checkers get their Plus/Minus points besides their other points.

 

IX     Suspensions, Trades, and Injuries

 

   A.] Injured players are taken out your lineup when they miss over ½ their games in a week.

            a.) They must miss 3 games before you can pick up a replacement player for them.

   B.] The player with the most points will replace the injured player.

   C.] Once a player is injured you can pick up a player for said player.

   D.] If you play an injured player for more than three weeks you will be penalized points

   E.] When an injured player comes back (plays 3 games in a row) you have a week to keep the pickup or you keep him automatically.

   F.] If a player is suspended it’s your problem to get him out of your lineup.

   G.] If a player is traded or sent to the minors you have one week from the time of the move to pick up a new player to replace him.

   H.] Holdouts are treated the same as suspensions.

 

X       Misc.

  A.] You must turn in a lineup once a month or your team will be frozen no points at all.

   B.] If there is problem with your lineup you have 2 weeks to bring it up to the Commissioner.

   C.] No calls after 10:00 PM (unless agreed upon)

        a.) 1st offence warning

        b.) 2nd offence $10 fine and team frozen with points till paid

    D.] Turn in lineups in to your division captain, turn in moves, injury stuff and trades into your captain and the commissioner.

        a.) Failure to do so can cost you your lineup change or players for the week.

    E.] Teams must have $25 paid at the picnic to reserve team for upcoming year.

    F.] Teams are required to attend 3 of the 4 functions held during the year, or be replaced. (Draft, 2nd Draft, All Star Party, Pinic)

    G.] The Commissioner has final word on rules interpretations, violations, and problems not yet encountered.

    

XI     Playoffs

 

   A.] To get into the playoffs you must be least the 12th best team in the league

   B.] Your roster consists of 2 full lines 2CNs 2RWs 2LWs 4DEF 2Goal

   C.] Goals, assists, wins, and shutouts make Points no Plus/Minus points here boys.

   E.] Worst versus Best format ties advance both teams playing the lowest seeds next foe.

   F.] You get one free pickup per round you advance in the playoffs.

   G.] Keeps get 3 players in the first round 2 in the second and 1 the rest of the way.

   H.] The 2nd to last round determines the finals with the losers playing for 3rd and 4th place prizes.
